Looking for Tartan T40 plans

I am trying to find actual plans for the Tartan T40. I mean, with most manufacturers, plans are easy to find online. But with Tartan, everything seems locked behind the Tartan Owners Group and they want money for access, anyone have copies or know another way to get them without the gatekeeping?

Plan as in are you trying to build? Are you looking for the more detailed ones like drawings, lay outs and construction details?

Tartan is pretty strict about their plans, usually only sharing through the Owners Group for a fee

Also, don't overlook the forums on SailboatOwners.com. There are some generous owners who have shared bits and pieces privately in the past.

Just curious, which specific plans are you looking for? Are you after structural details, rigging info, or maybe wiring diagrams?

@Mannie_ have you tried looking for generic T40 owner's manuals or wiring diagrams from the engine manufacturer (like a Universal or Yanmar manual if that's what's in it)? Sometimes those have basic system layouts that might give you clues, even if they aren't full boat plans

Tartan is a little stingy with those plans unless you're in the Owners Group LOL this is just what I know. You could try reaching out directly, some members occasionally share photocopies or PDF scans.

Yeah, I'm just looking for detailed drawings...layouts, construction details, stuff you'd expect to see in a proper brochure or service manual, not trying to build one, just research

That's what I figured, but it's frustrating. I'm not against paying, just don't want to join a whole group just to access basic info on a boat I might buy

Good tip, I haven't tried that yet. I think some T40s came with Yanmars, so I'll dig around for engine manuals, even basic system layouts would help right now

Haha yeah, I'm starting to see that! I might message a few owners directly, I am hoping someone's willing to share a PDF or two without jumping through all the group hoops
