So, my brother and I have this 2008 Tartan 4100 with a Novis carbon fiber mast, and we've been super happy with both the boat and the rig.
Right now, we're doing some work for winter, and part of that is replacing the RG8X VHF cabling inside the mast with RG213.
Apparently, the current wire runs through a mesh sleeve that's anchored at the top and bottom of the mast. We're wondering if anyone out there has tackled a similar project?
We're trying to figure out how tough it'll be to remove that mesh sleeve to run the new wire. Specifically, are there any hidden obstacles like zip ties or other anchors holding the sleeve inside the mast? And, any chance there are pictures or diagrams of the inside of the mast floating around online?
Thanks a ton for any help!
