Tartan 3500 wiring adventures

Just got my Tartan 3500 and am trying to figure out an issue with a couple of exterior lights, the interior ones work fine, but the cockpit and transom platform lights arent turning on at all. They're controlled by a switch near the companionway, and while I'm getting low voltage at the fixtures, Im not really sure what causes the problem. I'm new to boat wiring, so if anyone has a diagram or something on how these lights are wired, I'd appreciate that so much

Congrats on the Tartan! Sweet sailing. :)

Do check your grounds and any possibly problematic connections near the switch. Might be corrosion or a weak link.

Welcome to the family! That's a fantastic boat!
I suspect the same as @ce n'est pas bread, it's most likely is a corroded connection somewhere in that specific circuit.
The Tartan factory wiring is usually solid, but over time, especially in a wet environment, connections can go bad.
I don't have a wiring diagram handy but you can try contacting Tartan directly!
From experience, they're usually pretty helpful and might be able to send you a schematic.
 
When you notice low voltage at your fixtures, it often points to either poor connections or wiring that's too small for the load. Start by looking for any corrosion in the terminal blocks and junction boxes. Make sure to test the voltage at the switch as well. If the voltage is normal there but drops off at the fixtures, it indicates that there's a resistance problem somewhere in the wiring run.
